Employment Dashboard

The Employment Dashboard is a user-friendly tool that allows users to quickly access industry employment data for different levels of geography in Ohio. Specifically:

  • County – presents data for each county
  • Appalachian LLDs –presents data by local development district (LDD) as designated by the Appalachian Regional Commission. There are 32 counties within the Ohio Appalachian Region, more information.
  • Jobs Ohio Region – presents data for six geographic regions as defined by the JobsOhioNetwork more information

The motion chart is an interactive data visualization tool that displays data by year for each level of geography and by individual industrial sector. Simply click and it will show changes in employment and establishments over time. To view data by any sector:

  • Click on the X and Y drop down menus to select the industrial sector and type of information (employment or establishments) to be displayed
  • Zoom in and out of section of motion chart by right clicking mouse and dragging it around desired area
  • The data can be displayed as a bubble chart, bar chart or line chart by selecting the ChartSelector option at top of chart.

The table and chart at the right provide summary employment and establishment information for the selected geography and industry sector.


Data used to create this site is available by clicking "View Raw Data" found at bottom of the motion chart. Source of data is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Quarterly Census for Employment and Wages.
